Potatoe CHIPS or Potato CRISPS

  • 1 or 2 well scrubbed whole baking potato
  • 1 tabsp olive oil
  • salt to taste

Well have been on a quest to make Potato Chips or Crisps as it is know in other countries… Well it worked.. Slice the potato very very thin. you can peel the potato but I did not . I used a mandolin to get the very thin slices. place them in a large bowl of cold water and rinse and dump the water and add more water.. let the slices soak for at least 30 minutes and if the water gets cloudy empty and add more water.. This leaches away the starch and allows the chips to fry vs steam… after 30 minutes dried slices thoroughly on paper towels then Into the Actifry w the oil… timing is approx depending on size of potato and amount you use.. I did have to stop and rearrange the chips several time so they didn’t bunch up too much as they are very thin.. Once they reach the color you desire.. ..Remove dust w sm amt of Salt and SERVE and ENJOY
