Spicy Anchovies / ikan billis

멸치볶음 (myeolchi bokkeum) Spicy Anchovies / ikan billis

Serve: 3 people

Ingredients

  • 200gm of anchovies잔멸치
  • 1 tbsp of vegetable oil 식용유
  • 2 tbsp of brown sugar 설탕
  • 2 tsp of honey / corn syrup / maltose물엿
  • 2 tsp garlic 다진 마늘
  • 2 tsp sesame seed 깨
  • 2 tsp of rice wine 청주 (optional)
  • 1 tsp of corn flour

Preparation

1. Wash (Optional) Put 50 grams of anchovies in a sieve or a fine strainer and rinse once under running water. Shake the sieve to drain water. Pat dry with Kitchen Towel, remove any sand bits if seen. 2. Fry Spread anchovies and garlic around the pan, pour 1 tbsp of vegetable oil and set for 7-10 mins. 3. Rack Remove the anchovies from pan and place by side to chill. 4. Prep sauce Pour brown sugar, honey, rice wine, corn flour together and mix well. Pour into Actifry and heat for 1-2 mins till sticky texture. 5. Combine Add in anchovies previously prepared and set 2 mins till all is combined. It will be good to serve when chilled for about 5 mins 6. Serve Serve as side dish and garnish by sprinkling sesame seeds. Renditions: Spicy – add some pepper sauce / go chul jang (1tspn) for a little spicy taste Add toasted peanuts and green pepper with sauce.
